Public Health Experience

Public Health Experience Opportunities

The Central Michigan District Health Department (CMDHD) is pleased to offer public health experiences internship to students interested in gaining real-world public health experience. CMDHD welcomes students and other individuals who want to give their time and talents to help improve the health of our communities.

We offer a wide range of experiences including clinical rotations, internships/practicums, job shadowing and volunteering.

Opportunities for these experiences exist in all six of branches, located in Arenac, Clare, Gladwin, Isabella, Osceola, and Roscommon Counties. The type of experience and number of individuals accepted can vary among our locations and time of the year.

To apply, CMDHD is now using ACEMAPP to streamline the application process. All schools must submit placement requests for CMDHD via ACEMAPP.

Students and faculty must complete all school and clinical site requirements in ACEMAPP prior to participating in a clinical rotation with CMDHD. Once students become compliant, they will be eligible to attend a clinical rotation at any facility to which they have been assigned.

If you are a student, please contact your school coordinator to help begin the placement process. If you are a school that is not connected with ACEMAPP, you may contact Jennifer Bott at jennifer.bott@mhc.org or 517-908-8231.

If you are looking to do some observing or job shadowing but are not affiliated with a university, please click on this button here: Observer/Job Shadow Application. You will still need to make an account with ACEMAPP, but will not go through a university account.
